Science and Technology Consultant: Neuroscience- Arlington, VA (#0140)

Strategic Analysis is seeking a well-rounded individual to satisfy a requirement for a scientific and technical support position to support Program Managers (PMs) within our government clientele. Program Managers run large-scale research programs in the most critical areas, overseeing academic and industrial performers to produce new technology for the national needs. This position will concentrate on neuroscience research and have a strong emphasis on training and expert learning. It is of paramount importance to exceed our client expectations with high integrity and focused attention to milestones.

In addition to working well in a team environment, as a successful candidate you will incorporate the following:

Requirements: Graduate experience in neuroscience research. (Preferably a Ph.D.) Produce well-organized, high-quality, and concise reports and briefings Be a self-starter and work comfortably in undirected and ambiguous situations Superb communication skills Ability to quickly and effectively analyze and summarize the intellectual content of scientific and technological information Make decisions independently on research problems and methods Knowledge about programmatic details (execution rates, etc.) Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Project

 

Responsibilities:

As an S&T Consultant, you will become the invaluable ?right-hand man or woman? for a new Program Manager (PM) in the area of neuroscience. You will help the PM develop, refine and oversee programs in neuroscience. You will have regular contact with some of the strongest researchers across the nation. Anticipated research programs will constitute some of the most basic, ambitious, and far reaching research funded within the neuroscience community. This is an ideal transition position for you if you are interested in supporting cutting-edge neuroscience research and working closely with top-notch researchers in the field.

You will work both independently and collaboratively to help set and refine agendas, to monitor progress of programs, and to help resolve problems as they arise. Additionally, you will: perform as a staff advisor and consultant in an neuroscience related technical specialty; develop and evaluate plans and criteria for a variety of projects and activities; review research proposals and assess the feasibility and soundness of proposed plans; perform technology assessments, including conducting detailed market analysis to identify commercial investments in technology, assess/analyze technology assimilation rates, and investigate/determine commercial industry research emerging needs and trends; organize workshops, meetings, and panels of industry experts to exchange ideas and develop long-term program and transition plans; direct and coordinate technical information services, technical illustrations, and graphical productions. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
