Scientist - Biology -Pathways

We are looking for a Ph.D. to join a team to identify and characterize novel gene and compound modulating the control of autophagy in mammalian cell systems, The scientists will also work within a broader team environment studying PI3K / mTOR signaling. The candidate should have broad molecular, cell biology and biochemistry skills including DNA cloning, real-time PCR, site-directed mutagenesis, mammalian tissue culture with various cell lines, viral transduction, Western blotting. Specific experience with autophagy or membrane trafficking is highly desired. Experience of gene knockdown techniques including RNAi would be an advantage.

Qualifications
The candidates should have a Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Cell Biology or Molecular Biology with a minimum of 3 years experience working in academia or industry in the field of membrane trafficking. The candidate should have broad molecular, cell biology and biochemistry skills including DNA cloning, fluorescence microscopy, imaging analysis, mammalian tissue culture with various cell lines, viral transduction, Western blotting. Biochemical skills in organelle isolation (golgi and ER) needed. Experience of gene knockdown techniques including RNAi would be an advantage. Demonstrated ability to evaluate and implement new techniques. Must be highly motivated, team-oriented, and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
