Responsibilities:
The candidate will provide reliable and cost effective facilities management services for the Research and Development facilities at our South Campus. He/she will oversee facilities service providers and ensure contracted services are delivered in accordance to Genentech contract requirements. He/she will assist the manager with selecting, training and managing the performance of internal contract supervision and logistics support staff. The candidate will provide daily direction and assign work priorities to regular full-time employees. He/she will monitor quality and service levels for each service provider, as well as report and drive corrective action for service level or quality deficiencies. He/she will assist the manager with forecasting, preparation and the implementation of operating the expense budget for contracted facilities services listed above. The candidate will define the scope of work for each service provider, as well as the required schedule for the completion of work to meet customer needs. He/she will oversee contractors and service providers to ensure that work requests are completed on time. He/she will review cost estimates for contract work and drive cost reduction efforts. The candidate will ensure the contractors and service providers deliver high quality, cost effective facilities services to Genentech. He/she will be responsible for the completion of documentation related to the contracted facilities services process including maintenance management system requirements, incident reports and discrepancies. He/she will develop, maintain and drive to resolution internal customer complaints logs relating to contracted facilities services. The candidate will conduct regular inspections to verify each service provider?s performance in the field. He/she will develop and maintain 365 day a year (24 hours a day) emergency response capabilities for business critical contracted facilities services as well as coordinate shift exchange with other crews to promptly address any problems found during off shifts relating to contracted facilities services. He/she will ensure the service provider maintains buildings as it relates to the specific service provider, such as custodial, engineering, integrated pest management and general building maintenance services. The candidate will verify the billing of services rendered and review and approve invoices. He/she will submit accurate monthly accruals for value of services rendered. He/she will coordinate with service providers to support construction in occupied buildings to ensure there is no unscheduled downtime to operations. The candidate will support construction project reviews and analysis as it pertains to contracted facilities services.

Requirements:
A B.S. or equivalent experience is required, with CFM designation or equivalent preferred. The candidate will have a minimum of five years of progressive experience, preferably in a biotech, pharmaceutical or a closely related industry with a proven performance record. He/she must have strong interpersonal skills, as well as proficiency in both verbal and written communications. The ability to read, interpret and produce engineering documents is required. The candidate will have advanced documentation skills to ensure project files and system documentation is maintained at a superior level. He/she will work safely in an environment containing hazardous chemicals, high and low temperature liquids, high-pressure liquids and gasses, steam and moving machinery. The ability to read, understand and work from Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) is required. The candidate must possess knowledge of MS Word and Excel. He/she will be detailed oriented and demonstrate good record keeping practices. The ability to work overtime or temporarily modify shift schedule to support operations is required. Proficiency in understanding of federal, state, local and Genentech regulations is a must. He/she will demonstrate effective communication skills including preparing technical reports, the revision of various procedures (SOPs, IPs) and the Utilization of the EMPAC/GMMS or an equivalent work order system. The candidate will have the ability to work with minimum or no supervision. Knowledge of Building Automation Systems (BAS), Process Control Systems and PLCs is required.
