Position Description:

Job Summary/Duties & Responsibilities:
1)Designs, develops and optimizes methods for solid phase and/or solution phase synthesis of targeted or exploratory compound libraries for biological screening.
2)Suggests combinatorial libraries of novel chemotypes.
3)Designs and synthesizes analogs of biologically active compounds based on results of biological screening.
4)As a chemistry co-leader directs local synthetic efforts in a specific target-project team.
5)Recommends new approaches to innovative product discovery.
6)Provides analysis, evaluation and interpretation of acquired data.

Qualifications:

Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong background in organic chemistry and demonstrated synthetic experience.- Advanced knowledge in modern synthetic methods, mechanisms, and functional group transformations.- Familiarity with contemporary techniques of parallel synthesis.- Motivation to acquire or broaden the knowledge in medicinal chemistry and drug design.- Motivation to drive design and synthesis of compound arrays in order to discover new leads.- Capability to effectively interact with a multidisciplinary team of scientists.- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, presentation) - Proven track record for innovation as demonstrated by publications in peer-reviewed journals.

Education/Experience:
- PhD in organic chemistry.
- Experience in multistep syntheses and modern synthetic methods.
- knowledge of modern methods of structural analysis.
