Senior / Principle Scientist, Molecular Biology
My client is an exciting biotech company dedicated to the discovery and development of novel, superior therapeutics to treat pain and inflammation associated with diverse medical conditions.
Job Responsibilities:
Lead a team scientists to provide high quality reagents for several concurrent hit and lead optimization projects
Explore novel dimer pharmacology and interactions through mutation analysis and other relevant methods
Cloning, sub-cloning and mutagenesis of GPCRs, G-proteins and related targets
Generation of vectors for various expression systems (bacterial, insect and mammalian)
Evaluation of protein expression by binding, immunostaining and/or Western blotting
Generation of transient and stable cell lines using classic transfection techniques and baculovirus transduction
Job Requirements:
Ph.D. in molecular biology or related field with 5-7 years postdoctoral experience, preferably in pharma or biotech
Diverse experience in cloning and mutating GPCRs a must
Experience with bacterial, insect, and mammalian expression systems
Good cell culture technique including transient transfection and stable cell line generation.
Experience with baculovirus preferred
Fluorescence microscopy experience a plus
Strong interpersonal skills, initiative, ability to work independently and in teams
