Senior Project Manager - Biotech & Pharmaceuticals (for the Owner)

Job Summary:

Under consultative direction the candidate will manage and oversee complex capital projects or remote site projects involving the planning, design and construction, of company buildings, structures and other facilities. Duties include, but not limited to, the following:

Define project scope, form project team, develop project strategy, master schedule and spending schedule.

Organize teams for facility, technical equipment, process and systems design. Recruit appropriate team staffing and may manage technical staff.

Manage plan/design review process including equipment evaluation, tests and approvals.

Supervise contractor evaluation and selection process.

Set up logistics system, including RFQ's, bid selection materials management, invoice approval.

Review and approve cost estimates, set up check and balance system.

Integrate construction team into planning and design review.

Frequent review of progress vs. schedule vs. cost with appropriate teams involved. Update client and management.

Develop and manage multiple large contracts.

Interact with senior management for project reviews.

Determine project objectives, and interpret company policies.

Completed work is reviewed, from a relatively long-term perspective, for desired results.

Requirements:

Extensive experience in the application of project management skills and concepts, directly related to the bio-pharmaceutical industry.

Experience in working at a large headquarters facility.

Critical understanding of related disciplines. Problem Solving.

Ability to manage unusually complex technical problems and coordinate the implementation of solutions that are highly innovative and ingenious. Often acts independently to uncover and resolve issues associated with the development and implementation of operational program.

Bachelor's Degree in engineering or equivalent experience.

Typically 12+ years experience in project management with several years experience in managing medium to large size projects.

Skill in managing people, resources and multiple projects.

Skill in managing high profile projects.

Skill in leading others in meeting project schedules.

Skill in managing teams (delegating, prioritizing goals setting, meeting deadlines, quality of work, etc).
