Senior Project Manager - Vaccines

Req. # 05 ? 019 TITLE:  SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER ? VACCINES  LOCATION:  Rockville, MD Novavax, Inc. is a product development company focused on the research, development and commercialization of products utilizing its proprietary drug and biological technologies for large and growing markets.

 

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead and coordinate the development of new vaccines.  This position will develop plans, timelines and budgets for the different phases of development, ensure other team members are aware of assignments and deliverables, work with internal and external consultants to identify vendors and evaluate their capabilities to perform work to be outsourced, negotiate and oversee vendor contracts and performance, and analyze and report project status.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Participate in design of NVAX vaccine development plans and manage and coordinate their implementation. Chair cross functional project team meetings, communicate project goals, identify tasks, assign responsibilities/due dates and follow up progress to manage and control projects toward established goals and target dates. Identify, evaluate, select and contract vendors for services that need to be outsourced. Monitor and manage vendor performance. Prepare timely project information and analysis reports to inform the project team and NVAX management of project status and potential problems. Analyze project information, identify/anticipate problems, develop alternative courses of action and recommend the best course. Maintain current knowledge of scientific, regulatory and marketing developments in the vaccine industry, as well as knowledge of project management tools. As the Company grows, this position may oversee additional project managers.

 

Minimum Requirements:BS as a minimum in a biomedical or related science.  MBA or MS/PhD desirable but not essential. Extensive knowledge of vaccine development principles and project management principles and technology. Experienced with MS Project or other project management software toolsFamiliar with GCPs and FDA (CBER) requirements for vaccine development and approval. Experience dealing with CMC, manufacturing and regulatory issues. Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills Minimum of 5 years experience in biologicals industry and 5 years experience with project management.
