Senior Quality Control Associate

Dendreon is seeking a Senior QC Associate within the Quality Control Department. This is an exciting position in a fast paced environment, responsible for product testing and review, raw material program administration, and general laboratory maintenance. The successful candidate will mentor QC Associates and assume a leadership role in the laboratory. This position must communicate effectively, both internally with members of other departments within Dendreon, and externally with contract laboratories and vendors.

Description: Perform and review complex product release and stability testing (e.g., Flow Cytometry, Hematology, ELISA, cell based assays) Coordinate sample log-in, handling and testing within Quality Control to facilitate rapid turn-around-time Coordinate the Quality Control receipt, inspection and testing of raw materials and QC reagents per USP (or other compendia) or internal procedures Liaison between QC and other departments as requested Communicate with Seattle QC department and external contract laboratories on a routine basis Coordinate with Seattle QC and participate in method transfer/qualification activities

Requirements: B.S. degree in Medical Technology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or other relevant scientific discipline 5 years of experience in a regulated laboratory setting, cGMP Quality Control laboratory preferred Thorough knowledge of biochemistry, bioassay and microbiological methods (e.g., microbial ID, antibiotic susceptibility, etc.), and associated instrumentation Ability to prioritize and work under tight timelines Experience with LIMS preferred Excellent oral and written communication skills Proven strong problem solving skills

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements: Long periods of standing while performing some laboratory tasks Long periods of sitting while performing some data analysis Ability to temporarily (approx. 3 months) relocate to Seattle for training purposes
