Senior Research Scientist

The incumbent will be solely responsible for further development of Baxter/EPIC's novel biopharmaceuticals delivery platform and its application to new candidate molecules.
The responsibilities will include:
Research of candidate molecules biochemical characteristics
Formulation development including recommending of the best strategy,
In vitro and in vivo analysis of the protein microsphere preparations
Recommending, implementing and managing projects that apply novel formulation technologies to the delivery of macromolecular therapeutics.
Managing cross-functional teams that include research, analytical chemistry, QC, QA, process development, manufacturing and outside contract research laboratories.

Qualifications
Ph.D. in biochemistry, biophysics, chemistry or pharmaceutical sciences with at least 6-8 years of technical experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry or MS with 10+ years of experience required. Proven record of innovation, publications and presentations is required. A successful track record in therapeutic protein or peptide chemistry, formulation and drug delivery is also required. Experience in pulmonary and injectable delivery formulations and in the field of biodegradable polymers is a plus. Experience of managing junior scientific staff and cross-functional project teams is desirable. Excellent communication and team skils required. Experience with Project Management and transitioning projects from non-GMP to GMP work are a strong plus.
