Senior Software Engineer

Job Description: PRIMARY FUNCTION: Designs, develops and tests Windows Desktop Applications with a focus on biomedical technologies.

DUTIES:

1. Participates in all aspects of software development including planning, requirements analysis, architecture and design, implementation and verification and validation.
2. Provides technical leadership to other team members.

EXPERIENCE:

Total Experience: 4+ years of software development.

GENERAL SKILLS:

1. Communication: Solid oral and written communication skills. Develops documentation to communicate software designs, issues and tradeoffs.
2. Processes: Use and improves standard development processes. Helps develop new approaches, strategies and processes to increase the reliability and quality of the software. Researches, evaluates and implements new processes that contribute to improved productivity and higher software quality.
3. Execution: Works independently and in small teams with minimal outside guidance or direction. Demonstrates leadership in following projects through to completion.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
1. Languages/Technology: Proficient in C#, .NET Framework, WinForms and General Windows development issues.
2. Design & Development Methodology: Knowledge and experience in object oriented and structured design of software systems. Experience developing and documenting software designs and architectures. Knowledge and experience with Design Patterns and component based development.
3. Tools: Experience using Microsoft Visual Studio .NET, version control and defect tracking systems desirable.
4. Operating Systems: Experience developing code for and utilizing Win32 operating system.

EDUCATION and TRAINING:
1. Degrees: BS in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent.
2. Training, technical: Evidence of continuing education in software development.
