Senior Systems Engineer

Responsibilities: Configuration, management and maintenance of corporate back up system, Net BackupInstallation, maintenance and administration of Vaxgen?s Active Directory including ACL?s and GPOs, backup solution, and messaging systemDefining, documenting, and performing SOPs for all supported hardware and software systems (backup and recovery, shut down, daily monitoring, routine diagnostics, trouble ticket resolution) Creating, documenting and implementing scripts for the IT departmentDevelopment, documentation, implementation, and maintenance of an automated application deployment system.General hardware and software troubleshooting as needed with HP/Compaq serversAbility to document procedures and step by step solutions developedWorks on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Interacts with senior internal and external personnel.Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments.

 

 

Requirements:

 

Must have BA/BS. In a business or technical field (desired)Certification in AD, Exchange 2003 and Netbackup preferredAt least 5 years of experience supporting Active Directory, writing scripts, application packaging, and backup solutions and general IT administration in a corporate environmentUses skills as a seasoned experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures. This job is the fully qualified career-oriented, journey-level position.Detail oriented with strong documentation skillsExperience with a GxP or SOX compliance environment neededKnowledge of Network Operating Systems (NOS) configuration, set up and trouble shooting, email systems ? Microsoft Exchange, communication protocols and hardware configurationsExperience with Service Level Agreements, Scripting Application packaging and automated desktop deploymentBackup solution Netbackup experience neededStrong knowledge of Microsoft 2003 Enterprise, Active Directory, GPO implementation and ACL managementGeneral awareness of business impact of network activity and priorities
