Software QC Engineer

Ikonisys is developing world-class automated microscopy and imaging algorithms for the Ikoniscope?, the first completely robotic microscopy system in clinical diagnostics.

This Software Quality Control Engineer will be responsible for leading the quality control program for the software development group. This position requires a solid understanding of QA/QC methodology including Test Driven Development. SQCE will create and/or review quality assurance plans, test cases, test matrices, and other QA documents to ensure sufficient test coverage based on requirements and specifications. SQCE will also act as liaison with QA group within the product development organization.

Required Skills

Detail-oriented self-starter with 2+ years of programming experience in at least 1 scripting language.

Highly desired skills/experience include: MS .NET, C#, data acquisition from instrumentation, life science experience, knowledge of basic statistics, and familiarity with standard statistical analysis packages.

- Solid understanding of software development processes and procedures.

- Experience in Test Driven Development (TDD) highly desired.

- Strong knowledge/understanding of test methodologies

- Demonstrated technical ability to understand and test code.

- Demonstrated familiarity with quality assurance processes and procedures.

Responsibilities

- Develop and execute detailed test procedures and test cases for our world-class automated microscopy and imaging algorithms, write test plans and automated test scripts to ensure their integrity, and perform automation testing.

Maintains testing database by developing defect tracking and regression testing information requirements, designing information system, enters test outcomes, secures data

- Work with the Director of Software Development and Lead Programmers to mentor Test Driven Development

- Maintains test environment by developing the test environment, enforcing and complying with procedures, rules and regulations

- Identify, propose, and implement QC/test planning, quality metrics and process improvements for the software.

- Evaluate and report test execution results.

- Assist in any related quality activities and work closely with QA department.

- Participate in the development of the QC software system for the Ikoniscope? robotic microscope.

- Reports to the Director Software Development.
