We are looking for two Solutions Consultants to join our team in San Diego, CA.

 

The Solutions Consultant will identify, assess, and develop specific opportunities for Accelrys' services and products in creating systems solutions for individual customers. This position will require the use of industry experience and domain knowledge to assess and reduce a customer's critical challenges. The technical skills required will ensure that the visions are practical and actionable. The successful candidates will use their analytical skills to present the full value of proposed solutions and possess the enthusiasm to stimulate our customers to fully consider the possibilities offered. Travel to customer sites (at times up to 50%), engaging customers? technical staff and management in technical-level discussions that related to project work will be expected.

A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in the chemicals, life, or materials sciences fields or a related degree is required. The qualified candidate will have experience working in a technical IT environment and computer science. Understanding of enterprise architecture and application development including knowledge of application servers, J2EE, .NET, Linux and clustering technologies, server redundancy, fail-over, clustering, grid technologies, security concerns such as LDAP and single sign-on is desired. The qualified candidate will also have worked in an environment containing Oracle 8i through 10g. Java and Perl experience is preferred. B.S. in chemistry, biology, mathematics, or chemical engineering is required; M.S. or a PhD is preferred.
