Job Description:

Depending upon the level of experience, this position will be filled either as an Associate or Senior Associate level. The position is in the oligo synthesis group that is responsible for providing synthetic oligonucleotides to Amgen research across all sites.  The main responsibilities will include synthesis of oligonucleotides, deprotection, purification, and analysis by HPLC, CGE and MALDI TOF mass spectrometry.

 

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor?s Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related Life Science discipline
1 to 2 years of relevant experience for the Associate level
3 to 4 years of relevant experience for the Sr. Associate level
Good attention to detail
Basic lab techniques: UV spectrophotometry, PAGE purification, Sephadex desalting, Solid Phase Extraction
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, WORD)
Good communication/customer service skills

 

Preferred Qualifications:
Oligonucleotide synthesis
Experience using or programming liquid handling robotics
HPLC purification and analysis by IEX, ion pair and reverse-phase
MALDI TOF mass spectrometry
Good mechanical skills
Experience with relational databases
