Sr. Development Associate/Development Engineer II

We are seeking a Sr. Development Associate or Development Engineer II in the Purification Process Development group within Process Sciences and Engineering. The successful candidate will play a key role in the purification of novel antibodies and proteins to support research, development and pre-clinical development studies, as well as participate in the development of scalable early and late phase clinical purification strategies for therapeutic antibodies. Other responsibilities will include analysis of purification intermediates, documentation of work in batch records and technical reports. May be asked to participate in process transfer of purification methods to manufacturing.

 

Requirements:Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biochemical Engineering or a related field with at least 5-8 years of protein purification experience. Experience in antibody purification is highly preferred with a demonstrated proficiency in chromatographic techniques, such as ion exchange, size-exclusion and affinity chromatography, as well as filtration and buffer exchange techniques such as TFF and dialysis. Experience in and practical knowledge of basic analytical techniques (e.g., SEC-HPLC, SDS-PAGE, ELISA, LAL, etc.) is also desirable, especially with respect to recombinant antibodies.  Experience using automated chromatography systems. GMP/GLP training and/or experience is a plus. Thorough understanding of purification chemistry and biochemistry, particularly as it relates to antibodies and proteins, is desired. Proficiency in problem solving and troubleshooting purification methods. Good verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively in a team environment, and be directly involved in interdepartmental interactions.
