Sr. Incoming Technician

Thermage? is a medical device company dedicated to developing and commercializing advanced radio frequency (RF) based technologies for cosmetic/aesthetic applications. Our introductory device, the ThermaCool TC? System, combines the known reliability of RF tissue heating with Thermage patented innovations that enable nonablative thermal modification of skin and underlying tissue. We are currently hiring a Sr. Incoming Technician to work in our headquarters in Hayward, California.

The Sr. Incoming Technician is responsible for in-coming QC acceptance activities for electronic (PCB?s, PCA?s, harnesses, etc.) and mechanical (molded parts, chassis, etc..) components.  This position also reviews and inspects serviced parts.  Secondary responsibilities include manufacturing in-process quality control and related support activities, data analysis and reporting, and others as appropriate for position.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:


Incoming inspection and testing
Electronic components
? Inspect parts against IPC standards
? Performs electrical test inspections using DVM?s and HiPot as needed
Mechanical components
? Inspect parts using optical comparator, calipers, pin gages, etc.

Performs inspections on manufacturing lots and new or serviced equipment
? Reviews and maintains service records for equipment serviced in-house
 Maintains Acceptance and Rejection logs
? Device history Files
? Reviews and maintains all Device History Files on all devices and equipment
 Performs labeling control and support operations
? Issues and retrieves labeling associated with the manufacturing process
? Performs labeling accountability functions
? Controls issuance of software files to support manufacturing operations
 In-process Audits
? Prepares checklists and performs audits of manufacturing process as needed (may also coordinate follow up and corrective action with auditees)

 

Other Responsibilities and Duties:
? Must be available to provide overtime to support scheduled operations
? Limited travel may be necessary from time to time
? Support validation of product and processes as needed

Experience, Education, Training, Skills, Traits:
? Strong attention to detail
? IPC 610 certification
? Good verbal and written English skills
? Good basic mathematical skills (basic statistical skills highly desirable)
? Good interpersonal skills
? Strong Familiarity and experience with basic measurement equipment (calipers, pin/block gages, optical comparator, etc.)
? Minimum 3 years related experience in a medical device and/or pharmaceuticals manufacturing company
? Minimum 5 years in a related QC function
? Minimum 2 years inspection of PCB?s and/or PCA?s experience 
? Knowledge of QA systems and regulations in a medical device environment
? Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Access (desirable)

Individual must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and professionally.

Math Skills
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Analytical and Reading Skills
Ability to read, analyze, interpret and assist in the creation and refinement of company procedures.  Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and report on findings.

Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to perform lifting tasks of up to 30 pounds for short durations.  Duties of this job may involve standing and/or walking for extended periods of time.  Duties also involve daily keyboard data entry.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

Work Environment
Most work will be performed in an office environment.  The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
