Sr. PhD Scientist - Medicinal Chemistry

Successful scientists will work within a team based, laboratory group setting to improve the properties of lead drug candidates through the design and synthesis of new matter. Working closely with their colleagues in Biology, Pharmacology and Drug Metabolism, structure-activity relationships will be constructed and refined in a collaborative manner. Scientists are expected to balance hands-on laboratory accomplishments with scientific leadership. The result of this effort will be the identification of a drug candidate for clinical development. This position requires the mastery of techniques associated with modern laboratory synthesis, purification and characterization of organic compounds and sincere dedication to scientific rigor. The successful scientist will mentor and develop other high caliber employees at our vibrant and growing interdisciplinary site, newly established in Boston in 2004.

Candidates must have conducted outstanding research in the field of synthetic organic chemistry while obtaining a Ph.D. in that field. A minimum of four years of post-academic drug discovery experience is required. Successful candidates will function well within multidisciplinary teams and possess outstanding communication skills. Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills are required. Prior experience managing other scientists is required.
