Sr. Product Manager

PDL BioPharma, Inc. is a biopharmaceutical company focused on discovering, developing and commercializing innovative therapies for severe or life-threatening illnesses. The company currently markets a portfolio of leading products in the acute-care hospital setting in the United States and Canada, and generates royalties through licensing agreements with top-tier biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, based on its pioneering antibody humanization technology. Our product pipeline includes six investigational compounds in Phase 2 or Phase 3 clinical development for hepatorenal syndrome, inflammatory and autoimmune diseases, cardiovascular disorders and cancer. We currently have the following opportunity in our Edison, NJ location:

 

Sr. Product Manager

(4297-N)

 

This is a highly visible opportunity within PDL BioPharma to lead the company?s first product launch of an injectible product into a therapeutic area with significant unmet needs in the acute care setting. The Sr. Product Manager will be responsible for successfully leading all commercial product marketing aspects in the pre-launch and launch period in the Specialty Marketing Team.

 

Additional responsibilities include:

? Responsible for strategic marketing and tactical plan development, and successful implementation for pre-launch specialty acute care product.

? Oversee product planning and budgeting, including management of the launch-team playbook.

? Oversight of product market research activities, including demand and revenue forecasts, promotional strategy leadership, including promotional campaign management and agency oversight, and leading brand positioning and key messages. 

? Facilitate internal team coordination, interacting extensively with Sales, Sales Operations, Sales Training, Communications, Clinical Affairs, and Reimbursement teams.

? Organize and plan activities of cross-functional teams and collaborate with internal partners (specifically the Sales and Clinical Affairs).

? Integrate market observations with strong commercial analysis to bring clarity to current and short-term business needs.

? Ability to simplify complex business issues and create actionable plans to address those issues.

? Prepare materials and presentations for the Sales Force Plan of Action Meetings, as well as commercial management and other internal groups.

? Drive product planning process and implementation, including customer segment messaging and positioning and measurement of effectiveness of tactics.

? Lead launch meeting planning and content development.

? Anticipate how decisions impact other parts of the organization and products.

? Provide solutions for a way forward in relation to tactics to achieve brand objectives.

 

Requirements include: 

? Bachelor?s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or Life Sciences or equivalent (MBA preferred).

? 3-5 years of increasing product-marketing responsibility, including experience with at least one U.S. product launch.

? Demonstrated success in acute care sales and marketing roles. 

? Therapeutic expertise in one of the following areas: liver disease, renal disease, or solid organ transplantation, gastroenterology/hepatology is preferred.

? Experience leading cross-functional project teams, including leading teams to measurable outcomes. 

? Possess strong analytical, quantitative and communication skills.

? Demonstrated experience in strategic planning.

? Possess high-level of proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. 

? Must be results-oriented and a highly effective internal and external product champion.
