Principle Accountabilities:
The Manager, Statistical Services will oversee a team of statistical programmers and analysts in the IMS China-Shanghai office, supporting IMS? data quality initiatives in the Americas. This post will initially work at the US Statistical Services site in Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania for a period of 3 months for training purposes.
Upon relocating back to China, this position will work with the US project Director and will be responsible for interpreting statistical requirements for researching and developing data quality assurance procedures. Ongoing, the associate will manage a staff of statistical programmers to carry out research, develop technical specifications for system programmers, apply IMS production standards for code development, effectively communicate research results to US project manager, and adhere to established project schedules and testing quality assurance processes developed in the US.
Skills required include:Fluent in English and able to communicate effectively with English speaking colleagues Proficient in using SAS software to manipulate and analyze data. Familiar with Data Step Processing and Univariate Statistical PROC?s. Experience with PROC QC is desired. Ability to mentor more junior staff on appropriate and most efficient SAS methods for analysis. Excellent technical writing skills Ability to interpret and effectively translate statistical requirements to staff Excellent problem solving skills Strong team building skills.
Requirements:Master?s degree in Statistics or related quantitative science with at least 5-7 years? related professional experience Previous staff management experience required.Previous work with Statistical Process Control (spc) methodologies is preferredPrevious experience with large databases related to health care preferredMust be available to routinely work some night-time shifts in order to accommodate overlap of morning hours in US
