Statistician (Manager/Associate Director)

Description: - Participate as a team member on cross-functional full development nonclinical drug project teams to recommend appropriate statistical applications and plan/execute recommendations.
- Collaborate with manufacturing personnel to support six-sigma/process improvement studies.
- Plan meaningful experiments and data collection schemes for use in manufacturing unit process development/exploration/improvement.
- Perform statistical analyses of the study results; write summary reports and present results orally.
- Monitor literature for new statistical methodology and apply or adapt as appropriate.
- Contribute to the identification and resolution of statistical issues.
- Apply statistical and mathematical knowledge to general research initiatives.
- Maintain knowledge relating to the pharmaceutical regulatory environment and/or appropriate pharmaceutical application area.
- Monitor developments in statistical software and recommend use or develop statistical software solutions as appropriate.

MINIMUM: M.S. - Statistics DESIRABLE: Ph.D. - Statistics
WORK EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
MINIMUM: Five years statistical consulting experience with a proven track record in design of experiments, statistical process control, applied statistics, industrial engineering applications, and personal leadership. Good computational skills in SAS, S-plus or R. Builds effective working relationships within and across sites with customers and partners. Can balance many projects and clients simultaneously. Works independently, with minimal supervision. Learns new skills quickly. Good team player. Good oral and written communication skills.
DESIRABLE: Detailed knowledge of pharmaceutical processes and regulatory/GMP requirements and able to understand and analyze complex technical issues. Programming experience or web applications background (VB/VBA, Perl or Python, C, Java, Web Tools). Knowledge of other mathematical and statistical analysis packages (SAS-JMP, Design Expert, Mathematica, Minitab). Experience teaching statistical concepts. Outstanding communication skills.

OTHER ATTRIBUTES DESIRABLE: Strong statistical knowledge in general linear models, probability, categorical data analysis, variance component analysis. Strong science background, with good working knowledge of chemistry or engineering. Ability to identify and understand relevant scientific literature and apply knowledge gained from these sources. Ability to identify/develop and apply new quantitative methods as needed. Six-sigma black belt certification.
