DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
? Directs the function to provide new product pipelines for the company. ? Designs and commissions new product?s/processes. ? Provides technical service and support for the customer bases of the company globally. ? Ensures the appropriate skill set is available within technology for the fulfillment of the business plans. ? Controls the budget of three million dollars. ? Contributes as a general manager to the company?s strategy and operations. ? Represents the company as a technical expert with customers, suppliers, universities and institutions. ? Creates an environment in which ?excellence? in ?technology? is fostered but is market driven. ? Understands and achieves the right balance between the short term needs of ?current product? issues, with the medium and long-term product and technology needs of the company. ? Ensures that the long-term product and technology portfolio for the company secures and grows the businesses strategies and profitability goals.
IDEAL CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS/ATTRIBUTES
? The ideal candidate will possess a post-graduate degree in Chemistry. ? 10 years water treatment experience is preferred. ? The successful individual should possess significant business acumen with all levels within the company and externally as well. ? The person in this executive role should have expertise and hands-on experience with staff management. ? He/she should possess highly successful problem solving skills under the pressure of day to day issues. ? He/she must have the drive to complete projects commercializing products in the shortest possible time. ? The incumbent would be expected to act with a high degree of autonomy in all technical matters. ? The greatest challenge will be to maintain a market-driven focus while seeking excellence in technical innovations. ? This career professional will understand corporate cultures and how to optimally function within a corporate structure. ? The successful individual will have sound commercial awareness and understanding.
