Technical Service Representative

Meridian Bioscience is a fully integrated life sciences company that manufactures, markets and distributes a broad range of innovative diagnostic test kits, purified reagents and related products and offers biopharmaceutical enabling technologies. Utilizing a variety of methods, these products provide accuracy, simplicity and speed in the early diagnosis and treatment of common medical conditions, such as gastrointestinal, viral, urinary and respiratory infections.


Our TECHNICAL SERVICES REPRESENTATIVES answer all product and instrument related technical questions from customers, the sales force, and domestic and international distributors. They perform necessary product testing, provide follow-up calls and information, provide tracking and documentation of Customer Inquiries (CI).



 

Duties:

1. Responsible for answering product and instrument related technical questions

a) Document information required for customer inquiries

b) Perform testing of product related to customer inquiries and investigational specimens

c) Ensure timely completion of all complaint documentation and follow-up

d) Trace Complaints to determine trends in product and instrument related problems on a regular basis

e) Follow-up with the customers via phone calls and in writing to ensure customer satisfaction

f) Inform appropriate person ? sales rep, Product Manager, etc. as needed of pertinent information relating to customer and/or product

g) Contact customers regarding product recalls, field corrections and component replacements

h) Send replacement components, instruments and validation/evaluation samples to customers.

i) Test, aliquot and label specimens for evaluation testing

2. Assist in product/process improvements as necessary

a) Work with the Technical Support Supervisor and Product Manager to evaluate product or process improvement ideas

b) Relay information regarding product or process improvements gathered from customers and sales reps to Product Managers and other appropriate personnel as needed

c) Evaluate new and existing products as necessary and provide feedback to Product Manager or other appropriate personnel as needed

d) Perform product investigations and comparisons as needed

3. Make recommendations for, and assist in, revising package inserts, product labels, promotional materials, and SOPs.



 

Qualifications Required:

1. Education or specific courses

a) Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology, Biology, Chemistry, or equivalent relevant experience

b) Clinical laboratory or diagnostic industry experience preferred

2. Specific skills

a) Must possess excellent verbal communication and teaching skills

b) Must be able to empathize with the customer, understand customer needs, act in an urgent manner to resolve customer issues and raise issues internally to the appropriate people in order to resolve customer issues

c) Must have strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills.

d) Must be able to use computers, calculators and lab equipment

e) Must be organized, efficient and a term player f. Must be self-motivated, driven, able to make decisions and handle several tasks at once.

3. Physical demands ? Position may involve packing and moving of demo instruments and reagent kits
