Vaccine Molecular Biology Associate I/II or III

 

Job Title: Vaccine Molecular Analysis Associate II

 

Job Duties:

1. Perform PCR and sequencing assays according to standard operating procedures to identify idiotype sequences associated with individual patient tumors from clinical specimens.  This includes handling of radioisotopes 33P-ATP and 32P-ATP.

2. Cross train in other areas of manufacturing including:

? Biopsy processing of specimens from patient tissues to cryopreserve lymphocyte cell banks

? Cell culture of patient-specific hybridoma cell lines

? Automated production of patient-specific antibodies in hollow fiber devices

? Protein purification

3. Compliance with current Good Manufacturing Processes (cGMP) and facility procedures in all manufacturing activities

4. Communicate effectively with co-workers, Supervisors, and Managers to produce individual patient vaccines through all stages of manufacturing. 

5. Provide support functions for facility, equipment, and manufacturing group as required to meet group goals.

6. Document all work clearly and completely according to company documentation practices

7. Complete training in company vaccine manufacturing units and comply with directions from unit supervisors

8. Position requires participation on-call rotation for after-hours equipment alarms

9. Position may require participation in rotation for weekend and holiday cell culture tasks

Skills Required:

1. Biological Sciences background (Degree or certificate in biological sciences or biotechnology and/or training and experience in a laboratory or biologics manufacturing clean room)

2. 2-4 years work experience

3. Lab experience preferred in tissue processing, mammalian cell culture, PCR, or protein biochemistry

4. Experience in a Cleanroom environment and/or knowledge of cGMPs preferred

5. Ability to Interact with co-workers of diverse educational and experience backgrounds

6. Knowledge of general computer and word processing skills.
