Building Maintenance Person

Job Function: Performs maintenance, repair and installation work on plant facilities, services, grounds, equipment and instruments.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

?  Must practice safety precautions and be safety conscious at all times

?  Performs equipment planned maintenance tasks such as checking for proper equipment operation, lubrication of bearings, changing air filters, changing batteries etc.

?  Performs electrical and plumbing systems maintenance tasks such as inspecting plumbing fixtures for repair, checking drain lines to ensure they are free, changing light bulbs as required, resetting of breaker switches etc.

?  Performs carpentry work such as hanging doors, installing and or repairing cabinets, handrails, replacing floor tiles etc.

?  Performs painting tasks and preparing surfaces for painting by patching plaster holes, sanding scraping masking etc.

?  Utilize a wide range of hand tools, powered and not powered, such as drills, sanders hammers, pliers screwdrivers, wrenches,  oilers etc.

?  Perform other duties as directed by the Maintenance Manager

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1)  Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

2)  Knowledge of principles, practices, tools and materials related to general carpentry, basic facility maintenance, painting, and electrical

3)  Skilled in the use and care of common hand tools required in the building and equipment maintenance
