FACILITIES MANAGER

HIRING RANGE:  $6,700 - $7,200/Month (DOQ)

THE POSITION: Facilities Manager is a division head responsible for the provisions of services as property management, furniture management, security, custodial, maintenance, repair and improvement services to City Facilities.  Also included is project management responsibility to oversee the construction of new facilities and the rehabilitation/renovation of existing City buildings. The incumbent will exercise independent judgment in organizing and directing the work of subordinate supervisors and administrative staff. Additional duties include: preparation of division budget and controlling the expenditures of allocated funds; consulting with and advising executive staff on matters of facilities/property, project management and selecting, training, and evaluating section supervisors and division administrative staff.

 

THE REQUIREMENTS: These are entrance requirements for the selection process and applicants must meet the minimum qualifications at time of appointment.

 

TO QUALIFY:  Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor?s Degree in a related field; and three years of supervisory experience in property management, building maintenance or facilities management. Experience in project management is highly desirable.

 

Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Possession of a valid California Driver's License at time of appointment.

 

SUPPLEMENTAL APPLICATION:  Applicants must submit a completed supplemental application in addition to the City of Fresno Applications.  The Supplemental Application will be used to assess a candidate's technical knowledge and written communication skills.



SELECTION PROCESS

The selection process will consist of the following parts:

 

APPLICATION REVIEW - Qualifying Only:  Applications which meet the minimum qualifications may be reviewed and a limited number of the most qualified candidates will be invited to the oral interview.  Selection of the most qualified candidates will be based upon those applications and supplemental applications demonstrating the greatest breadth and depth of applicable education, experience, skills and training. Therefore candidates are urged to submit sufficiently detailed information in their application materials for a proper evaluation. 

 

Those candidates who are recommended for further consideration will be scheduled for a final interview with appointing authorities.
