Maintenance Manager II-Construction Department

Safeway, one of the largest food and drug retailers in North America, has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Manager II to support our Eastern Division Stores (179) located in Maryland, Virginia, Washington, DC, Delaware, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The Eastern Division office is located in Lanham, Maryland, centrally located between Baltimore and Washington, DC.  Candidates must have a four year college degree with 5 or more years of retail grocery maintenance or comparable experience.  Should have two or more years management responsibility for 6 or more employees and possess superior leadership shills.  Technical training in product refrigeration, HVAC and electrical required, with experience in preparing budgets and forecasts.  A high degree of initiative and excellent planning and organizational skills mandatory.  Should be computer literate in Microsoft office suite-Word, Excel, Power Point, as well as A.Cook Software, and  Comp-Trol systems.  Strong customer service skills with excellent oral/written/communication skills.  Position will manage the maintenance staff, including support staff, negotiate and administer service contracts, maintain approved service contractor list for stores, coordinate bidding, awarding of contracts and inspect capital maintenance projects.  Additionally will inspect retail stores for maintenance related issues and contract compliance and communicate maintenance information and procedures to stores and management.  Will establish the budget for retail stores and departments and monitor.  Travel required-approximately 25%.  Salary range $60,400 to $83,000, commensurate with experience/qualifications with an excellent benefits package which includes health, dental, vision plans, 401k, pension, spending accounts, stock purchase option, tuition reimbursement, free parking, on site fitness facility and advancement opportunities.  If you are looking for a career with a progressive, diverse company who values its' employees, email resume with cover letter and salary requirements stating position and salary requirements.  AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER M/F/D/V.
