Maintenance & Inspection Manager

Job Requirements:
Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Business or related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience is required. Candidates must possess seven or more years experience in supervising transmission / substation maintenance activities and five or more years of experience managing projects or providing project team leadership. Thorough knowledge of transmission system maintenance activities and a general knowledge of system operations and planning particularly for the western U.S. transmission system is required for this position. Must have a general understanding of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission regulatory process. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to rapidly learn and assimilate complex information in less familiar situations, systematically gather relevant information from different sources, and draw logical conclusions to address a problem or issue. Ability to organize, motivate and lead cross-functional teams to successful outcomes. Candidates must demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills for building relationships, and interacting with all levels of management and key stakeholders both internal and external to SCE. Must possess the ability to identify conflicting business needs, develop resolutions and communicate ideas or information effectively to sophisticated and/or difficult audiences. Candidates must be familiar with MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and project software.

Typical Responsibilities:
The Transmission/Substation (T/S) Maintenance & Inspection (M&I) Manager is the inspection and maintenance process owner for T&D with overall responsibility for FERC/NERC/WECC/ISO regulatory compliance as it pertains to transmission and substation inspection and maintenance programs, policies, procedures, and reporting. The T/S M&I Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of strategic regulatory and legislative initiatives relating to compliance of transmission and substation maintenance activities. Manages the development and implementation of transmission line maintenance and inspection policies. Manages and directs cross-functional teams to address issues and solve strategic regulatory and legislative problems that have significant impact on maintenance and operations of SCEs Transmission and Substation assets. Coordinates the Power Delivery response to complex and important FERC, NERC, WECC and CAISO proceedings regarding maintenance of transmission facilities. Analyzes the proceedings for T&D impact and works with and leads cross-functional teams to integrate strategies across SCE. Represents T&D with regulatory agencies, other utilities, regional and national industry organizations, interveners, customers, other departments and/or parties as required. Represents SCEs interests on the CAISO Transmission Maintenance Coordination Committee, FERC transmission, maintenance and reliability related initiatives and proceedings, federal legislative proposals, Regional Transmission Organization (RTO) maintenance initiatives, western regional industry activities (WECC), EEI T&D policy issues and NERC activities pertaining to transmission and system maintenance reliability.
