Maintenance and Engineering Positions

Lead Engineer

Operates and maintains stationary engines and mechanical equipment such as central plant refrigeration, steam boilers, air condition systems, equipment and allied facilities. Oversees the chemical treatment program. Responsible for the operation, maintenance and repair of all central steam and chiller plant equipment. Fires boilers and operates pumps and all central plant equipment in accordance with code regulations and hospital operating procedures. Oversees and reviews all plant operations log sheets. Stocks parts & maintains equipment service manuals & files Coordinates all equipment inspections and reports any adverse conditions to manager. Responsible for plant operations work schedule and time sheet submission. Monitors the energy management system & recommends changes & improvements. Stands scheduled shift and in emergencies shall be responsible for the continuous operation of the central plant. Participates in educational and training programs for self and fellow employees; keeps informed of new code rules and regulations, changes in methods and techniques; makes recommendations for improvements and efficiency of operations. Provides training & support to stationary engineers. May perform additional duties as necessary.

 

Requirements:

First Class Engineer's license. 5 years experience in plant operations; experience in a hospital prefered. Previous Supervisory experience preferred. Must be able to read mechanical and electrical drawings. Requires good communication skills. Must have a good working knowledge of HVAC systems. Requires ability to operate specialized equipment: i.e., boiler, chiller, hand tools.

 

HVAC Mechanic

Must be able to read mechanical and electrical drawings.
Requires good communication skills.
Must have an excellent working knowledge of HVAC systems.
Must have a good command of the English language both oral and written.
Requires math, reading, adaptability, logic, driving, and typing/word processing.
Requires ability to operate specialized equipment: i.e., power tools, portable meters, and emergency generators. Requirements:Universal CFC certification required.
3-5 years HVAC/R experience required.
Hospital experience a plus.
Knowledge of D.D.C. controls and HVAC applications necessary.
Strong troubleshooting skills and knowledge of refrigeration systems needed.
