POSITION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Acts as liaison between information systems (IS) vendors and Nissan to ensure objectives are met. Maintains a link between Nissan initiatives and strategies and their impact on development initiatives. Develops awareness regarding IS opportunities that enable new technologies to better support Nissan. Participates in project process reviews and audits.  Monitors the status of all IS development activities.  Promotes policies, procedures, and processes that contribute to the organizations objectives.  Works with affiliate companies to conduct business and IS strategic planning activities. Maintains a link between business strategies and their impact on application development initiatives.

 

Responsible for managing (1) the execution of application plans and strategies, IS architectures, investment, and service delivery strategies in alignment with the corporate and marketing and sales business domain priorities; and (2) working with the IS Planning & Architecture group in the continuing development and refinement of these IS architectures.

 

Key duties include budget planning and the management of application development, project execution, maintenance and systems support, and day to day IS service delivery / customer relationship management.  An understanding of automotive processes or IS; presentation skills; project management skills; ability to creatively resolve complex issues; oral and written communication skills; negotiation skills; client management; and vendor and contract management. 

 

Seven or more years of related experience at a professional level, including IS application development functions with emphasis on the front-end of the development life cycle, and IS consulting, requiring interaction with clients.  One to two years in a work leader role coordinating the work of other employees or contractors. This includes training new employees, assigning work, and checking the timeliness and quality of work. May have provided input into performance reviews. Most time in work leader role would have been spent performing work similar to that performed by the people whose activities the position coordinates. 

 

Bachelor's degree in a related discipline.  Advanced degree preferred.  Working knowledge of word processor, spreadsheet, other PC applications, or mainframe applications to produce non-standard, creative products.
