Computer Operator II

CSI Tech, Inc. is currently hiring for a Computer Operator II (2nd Shift) for a Southside Jacksonville area business.  Essential functions include performing second shift computer operational functions and activities using IBM S/390 Mainframe and Windows Network Applications.  Includes programmer trainee activities.  Maintain equipment in good operational condition and be responsible for report distribution.  Perform PC hardware and software setup and maintenance functions as required.  Assist in Phone System administration, as requested. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Run scheduled mainframe computer jobs on a timely basis, daily, bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually, in accordance with corresponding flowcharts, distributing copies of all reports to recipients as recorded.



 

2. Maintain current report distribution list, job flowcharts, and ensure that tape files are appropriately labeled and in the correct library location.

 

3. Ensure that equipment is properly maintained and cleaned, reporting any problems to responsible personnel and repair service.  Work with other departments on terminal locations including movement of equipment if necessary.

 

4. Maintenance of all media files, including backups, reorganization, balancing and running of reports on the prescribed schedule.







 

5. Performs PC hardware, software and telephone system maintenance as requested.

 

 

Previous PC experience is required in a Microsoft Windows environment.  This opportunity will be a long term contract with a strong possibility to be permanent.
