DATA PROCESSING ANALYST

The Hacker Group, one of the largest direct marketing agencies on the West Coast and a subsidiary of Foote, Cone & Belding, is looking for a sharp data professional in our PC-based data processing department.

 

Data drives everything we do at The Hacker Group.  The Data Analyst position serves a crucial role inside the agency. The analyst works with the project management team to understand all the various list sources behind a direct marketing project, the production requirements and the underlying strategy.  The analyst processes inbound data from a variety of sources, including client supplied files, rental list sources, marketing databases and suppression files.  These files are centrally processed to create data files that integrate print production, website, analysis, and call center operations. 

 

This position will be assigned key client projects and will be responsible for performing all data processing functions required to analyze, process, and code complex data sets.  You will be part of a team that manages all the underlying data for our clients? campaigns, and then executes flawlessly against that plan, on-time, and within budget.

 

Major Functions:

 Use existing systems and processes to load and transform data into Dbase III or FoxPro. This will include verifying and processing existing lists that are (a) purchased, (b) received from the client, or (c) already existing in our system.Using FoxPro, SQL and other systems, generate data components and export data according to specific instructions.Modify/Add new processes and data management techniques as needed to continually improve the quality of the data.

 

Required Knowledge & Skills:

 Two plus years data processing experience.Able to gather and analyze data, generate reports, and communicate findings.Skilled in use of personal computers and related software applications such as Microsoft Office 2003.Demonstrated ability to manage files and queries using SQL-type tools.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Detailed knowledge of Data Processing and Data Management tools and techniques.Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, highly dynamic atmosphere and react quickly to changes Experience with the following is a PLUS:
  Direct Marketing
  SQL, FoxPro
  Postal Soft Utilities
