The primary responsibilities of the Business Intelligence Data Modeler are to be the evangelist for the SEEK enterprise data models. This role works with business to determine data Modeling criteria, analyze, assess, create and document the data models - CDM, LDM and collaborate on the PDM. Works with the business to gather information and verify data models. Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve problems, ability to effectively apply a broad range of best practices and methods in moderately complex and diverse circumstances.  Demonstrates an understanding of Business Intelligence best practices.

 

Lead modeler responsible for performing analysis to determine modeling from the business  requirements and to create and analyze the data for the SEEK program. Will also work with developers to map process models to data models and provide modeling assistance to developers both conceptual and technical. Responsible for conceptual model, logical model, and ensuring correctness of the physical data model. 

Essential responsibilities include:

 

Data Modeling ? (65%): Ability to work diplomatically with business users to gather accurate requirements for modeling creation Implement business requirements (logical data modeling) using ErwinDesign/Maintain logical and physical relational and dimensional data models for all aspects of the SEEK architecture.Capture data requirements in Erwin logical models and associated data dictionaryProvide hands-on data modeling / development support for a variety of assignments and have a quick grasp of new business environments and products

Quality Assurance ? (20%):

 Validate the data mapping table in each Use Case. Understand the impact these Reference Data changes will have on existing systems and liaise with the relevant teamsDevelop a process for loading data dictionary changes into logical model.

Administration ? (15%):Work with all IT(Architecture, Design DBA, ETL, DIW and other IT areas as identified) and Business groups(Data Governance and other business area as identified) in the SEEK Program team to agree on a plan for and the delivery of all levels of the data models. (CDM, LDM, PDM)Align data model progress with project plan; raise issues and risks and propose risk mitigation solutions.Ensuring models are in sync and documented with all aspects of the SEEK  Program and business 

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Other Requirements: Bachelor?s degree in Information Technology or Computer Science.At least 5 years of experience.Strong verbal and written communication skills.The person needs to be comfortable in a matrix environment that is intense, ambiguous, and collaborative.ETL process and tool experience preferred. Metadata repository experience preferred.

7. ERWIN data modeling tool experience

  8.  Understanding and experience in Corporate Information Factory design concepts. 

  9.  Ability to work independently, make sound business decisions and drive a task to completion.  Ability to use data Modeling tool Erwin.Ability to write basic SQL queries, use database utilities, basic operating system commands, run scripts and maintain databases and logs.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, provides appropriate estimates and status reports, and coordinates efforts across many areas of the organization.Data analysis skills, including metadata mapping for data lineage.Ability to work independently to initiate and facilitate meetings with different groups that are responsible for input, updating and capturing data.
