Advanced Windows troubleshooting knowledge

Advanced knowledge of Novell GroupWise system
Creating E-mail Accounts
Maintaining specified space levels
Ensuring availability

Create, test and push applications via ZEN Works (desktop packages used as part of deployment)

Create, test and deploy desktop images for numerous models and OS via ZEN Works

Assist in Installs/Move/Add/Change process Examples include but not limited to:
Deploying new desktops and ensuring proper data migration when applicable. Coordinating desktop roll down process (reuse of the best machines in the environment) as needed

General Hardware installation or swaps including peripherals (i.e. monitors, mouse, keyboards, external drives, desktop printers, etc.)

Maintain and accurate deployed stock inventory information on record

Assist in the decommission of old equipment in coordination with building services and IT

Level 2 Network Administration
Basic knowledge of patch panel and cable management
General port connectivity troubleshooting

Ability to coordinate a system inventory with specified information (i.e. Model, Serial, CPU, RAM, Hard Drive space, etc)

LAN Printer management
Troubleshooting LAN printing issues
Setup and/or move LAN printers
General printer configuration

Strong knowledge and experience with Novell Console 1 for NetWare system administration
Assisting level 1 with account creation as needed
Maintain Distribution Lists
Working with Network Team on Console 1 based changes

Ability to monitor and maintain backup tape library following established procedures and guidelines

Desktop Services
General hardware repair knowledge (to include, but not limited to)
Hard Drive Swaps
Memory Installs
Motherboard Replacements
Power Supply Replacements

General server hardware knowledge
Memory upgrades
Hard Drive installations
Coordinate hardware replacement as needed

General knowledge of backup tape library
Coordinate hardware replacement as needed


Knowledge and Experience in Novell Console 1. (NetWare Administration)

Ability to create, suspend or delete accounts as part of New Hire or Separation process on a Novell and/or Windows Network

Ability to reset user ID*s for LAN (Novell and Windows Network) and other specified applications

Ability to escalate incidents based on priority and assign to correct group
Notification to IT staff of know outages

Communicate daily trends to IT leadership as needed

Run requested incident reports as needed from IT leadership
