Job Description:Primary function of this job: Help define long-term business goals and the strategic plans to achieve those goals. Assist with developing, evaluating, and implementing specific strategies/tactics, resource requirements and metrics. Conduct special studies/projects which impact the organizations strategic or tactical direction. Helps communicate and operationalize the business plan. Track and report performance vs. business goals.


Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following:
Works with global functions/business units, region teams, group-level operations, and other HP business teams to develop long-term strategic plans.
Acquires timely, accurate data and information for analysis and decision-making on assigned projects. Adds insight and understanding.
Creates linkages between long-term strategic plan and first-year financial and operational plans; help identify, align and communicate actionable business objectives and tactics for the near term.
Establishes meaningful, agreed business metrics, targets and goals. Tracks performance vs. plan. Interprets and communicates operational issues. Participates in issue resolution.
Leads special strategy initiatives to meet immediate business imperatives or executive requests.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 8+ years related business planning/strategy experience. Experience in global information technology and/or telecommunications strongly preferred.
Minimum five (5) years or more of demonstrated success in a business planning/strategic planning position.
Previous experience leading teams that had the responsibility for building effective business strategy.
Demonstrated experience creating executive level presentations and communicating business strategy to senior executives for approval.
Previous experience participating participated on cross-organizational teams to address complex problems.
Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-organizational projects across multiple boundaries.
Demonstrated ability to drive strategic projects to closure despite organizational obstacles, imperfect data and information, and tight timelines.
Demonstrated written, verbal and executive presentation skills.
Demonstrated ability to persuade and influence senior management.
