Job Requirements and Description

 

Meet the qualifications for Engineering Technician IV (System administrator/Information Assurance Support or Help Desk/Computer Support).  Two additional years performing all of the functions of the Engineering Technician IV (System Administrator/Information Assurance Support or Help Desk/Computer Support) or a Master?s Degree in an Information Technology related area of study.  Demonstrates a technical ability and proficiency through successful completion of specialized training, certifications, or work experience in two or more competency areas, to perform the required duties of this position.  Competency areas include Microsoft (MS) Windows Server, MS Windows Server applications (e.g., SQL Server, IIS, Exchange SUS, SMS), Information Assurance, vulnerability scanning, intrusion detection, UNIX server, and LINUX server.  Must be a U.S. Citizen and must be able to obtain and retain a security clearance.

 

Other Duties:

 

Anticipated programs to be supported (if applicable): Provide support to Network Infrastructure Unit, to include support of ATC campus LAN (network components include routers, switches, firewalls, VPN appliances, and wireless equipment).  Responsible for maintenance of components of the ATC network infrastructure and coordinating design and procurement efforts with network planning and design personnel.  Manage servers in support of network management tools and applications such as CA Spectrum, Cisco Works, IPSwitch WhatsUpProfessional, Somix Denika, Netcordia NetMRI, SolarWinds, and others as required.
