MIS SUPPORT TECHNICIAN

SUMMARY:

You will support the user help desk and evaluate user problems/requests to determine exact problem origination.  Support research and analysis of business problems.  Maintain documentation for systems, operations, and programming.  Support users on system operations and provide input into resolutions to user business problems.  Systems output coordination.  Install Personal computers.  Troubleshoot and resolve problems with PC software, hardware and connectivity issues.

 

REQUIRED JOB SKILLS:

?  Basic business administration and documentation skills.

?  Basic analytical skills.

REQUIRED JOB DUTIES:

 

Complete help desk requests as assigned.

?  Consult with users to determine problem areas.

?  Analyze problems for possible solutions.

?  Take action to resolve problems.

?  Distribute and maintain computer output.

?  Maintain Policy Print procedures.

 

Answer Help Desk Phone Line

?  Answer Help Desk line promptly.

?  Key reported problem into Help Desk Log.

?  Assign problems to appropriate IT staff member.

 

Analyze changes to Business processes

?  Watch for changes in business procedures.

?  Watch for changes in product administration rules.

?  Watch for state regulation changes.

?  Analyze the impact of changes to current systems.

 

Support Operations and Programming Staff

?  Maintain Operations and Programming Documentation

?  Test program and infrastructure changes.

?  Install/Move Personal Computers

?  Key data as required for new project implementation

?  Research and retrieve operating systems patches
