Job Title:    Hands-On IT Leader

Location:    Oakland, CA

 

You will join our senior management team as leader of the IT department.  Your technical infrastructure skills will be current and oriented to network and server support and enhancement using servers and desktops running Microsoft OS in a 250 node network running across 2 primary locations (one on each coast) linked by a dedicated point to point T1.  A capable systems administrator/help desk specialist will report to you and you will work hand-in-glove with a senior software developer.  You will design tactics and implement projects to maintain, grow and enhance our technology platform while working with your department members, the senior management team and our partners who supply telephony and local technical expertise as needed.  You will enjoy building your technical skills in the arena of network-based telephony servers which integrate with our call center business application.  You will be willing to travel on company business on a limited basis (e. g., quarterly).  You will receive base and incentive compensation commensurate with your experience and contributions to the company. 

 

Since 1989, CAS Systems, Inc. has provided high-end, business-to-business telephone sales and marketing services to clients who sell computer hardware, software, networking products, telecommunications, or computer services.  We generate high quality sales leads and set appointments on behalf of top suppliers in the high-tech industry including Microsoft, HP, Oracle, Sun, and GE Access Distribution.  The company has also recently entered non-technology markets with success and is looking forward to an exciting 5 year growth period which promises to be rewarding in many different ways to key contributors.

 

Responsibilities: 

?  Designs, develops and implements computer based information systems to ensure user?s needs are met and data is processed according to company specifications and requirements. Users include both internal and external customers.

?  Defines user information requirements by conferring with users and understanding their information processing needs. Recommends and develops computer-based business solutions. Evaluates effectiveness of programs and offers solutions to enhance effectiveness.

?  Prepares and maintains technical specifications and related documentation to implement procedures and prevent system failure. Responsible for company's disaster recovery plan.

?  Researches and makes recommendations on hardware and software purchases. Negotiates with vendors on behalf of the company to ensure cost-effective purchasing decisions.

?  Ensures hardware and software is maintained and data is secured through proper back-ups.

?  Makes cost-effective capital spending recommendations and controls on-going expenses effectively.

?  Keeps up-to-date with pertinent information technology changes to enable innovation and ensure compliance with internal and external agreements.

 

 

Key Qualifications:

 

?  The ideal candidate will have a college degree and at least seven (7) years of information management experience including management experience. 

?  Ability to create reports, business correspondence, and system documentation.

?  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.

?  Ability to trouble-shoot and correct IT problems.

?  Willingness to work ?IT hours? to implement system changes outside normal business hours.
