IT Analyst - Messaging/Instant Messaging Engineer

Overview

Position will be in HP IT in the End User Service Management (EUSM) Messaging Engineering Team.  This is an engineering position where the incumbent will play a key role in providing leadership in the development of innovative and long term Messaging (Exchange and SMTP based messaging) and Real time Collaboration services for HP (Jabber and LCS/Live Server).  The ultimate goal is to provide customers with highest quality and valued products/services.

 

Responsibilities

? Primary role will be to be responsible for the engineering design, development, and implementation of Real Time Collaboration services for HP.  Secondary role to be engaged in Messaging Service engineering design and development.

? Provide technical knowledge in re-engineering existing solutions and solve a variety of multi-platform or cross functional problems relating to messaging and real-time collaboration. 

? Lead improvement or quality initiatives, including metrics development, monitoring and corrective action for deficiencies.  The person must work cross-functionally, between and among engineering teams, operations teams, and end-user support teams.

? Develops and contributes to communication materials (content), service and operational level agreements, internal specifications documents, project planning documents, end-user communication and other written forms necessary to manage a service. 

? Understand and track industry trends, standards, current technologies, and policies and be able to articulate the effects of these trends in our services.

?   Provide regular updates to project manager, program managers, or management regarding status of open projects, initiatives or services.



Qualifications


Musts:


Bachelors degree (Computer Science, MIS, IT, EE, or equivalent combination of education and experience) plus 5 years directly related experience. 

Minimum 2 years demonstrated, practical knowledge experience with enterprise (non-consumer) real time collaboration applications (such as Jabber and LCS/Live Server ).

Minimum 5 years demonstrated experience with designing, developing, implementing and supporting enterprise applications,

Minimum 5 years demonstrated experience with Windows and managing enterprise applications that run on Windows,

Excellent presentation skills and be able to present technical ideas and concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. 

Excellent written and negotiating skills.

Must be able to manage and lead multiple large and/or complex projects and have advanced knowledge of business and customer IT strategies
