IT Architect

Architect, design, and develop enterprise level solutions enabling global, industry leading product configuration and quotation capabilities in the customer sales cycle. Solutions are deployed worldwide both internally within HP and externally to HP's customers.

Responsible for overseeing the architecture and technical design of large systems and interfaces between major subsystems. Responsible for detailed design and development of complex subsystems. This is an excellent opportunity for the senior architect who desires to contribute to the development of their system designs.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

Enhance and further develop current solution, plan and architect next generation solutions.

Collaborate in functional requirements definition and documentation.
Define the solution architecture with the development team members.
Participate in all subsystem design meetings.
Develop the most complex subsystems or modules.
Lead developer design and code reviews
Define technologies to be used on the project.
Define development tools to be used on the project.
Recommend development methodologies and standards.
Conduct and/or schedule technology research.



Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or equivalent experience is required; Master's degree is preferred.

Must have a minimum of 15+ years design and development experience.

 

Extensive experience with business plan development and execution of full software development life cycle (SDLC).

Must have very good communication skills, creative ability, consulting skills, and leadership qualities.

 

Technical Skills - Must have expert level development experience in the areas listed below.

 

J2EE / Weblogic Application Server based development of complex distributed business applications:

 
Must have a minimum of 8+ years implementing/using OOD development standards and practices.
Advanced, hands-on development experience in both Unix and Windows environments.  
Familiarity with existing and emerging web & web-service standards
Familiarity with the Eclipse IDE and popular open source tools from the Apache Foundation.
Experience with clustered environments 

HTML, JavaScript and other web client technologies:

 
Experience with advanced web UI development
Familiarity with existing & emerging tools and techniques such as Flash, AJAX etc. 

PERL:

 
Advanced, hands-on application development experience with object-oriented Perl (Perl 5.x)
Experience with Perl Scripting in an HP-UX environment 

HP-UX:

 
Advanced knowledge of HP-UX commands & utilities required for debugging application issues and tuning application behavior.
Knowledge of the C compilation environment required to build non-standard Perl libraries, various Apache modules on HP-UX etc.

 Networking Protocols & Devices:

 
Working knowledge of networking standards such as TCP/IP and network devices such as Load Balancers, Routers, and services such as DNS etc. involved in the deployment environment of a typical clustered and distributed application.
