Business Environment

HP IT is launching an exciting and aggressive data center consolidation and transformation program.Our intent is to have 6 global IT data centers in 3 different locations.  This has been determined to be the best approach for meeting efficiency goals as well as addressing business continuity and disaster recovery requirements.  Planning is now underway and data center space is being evaluated in Austin, Houston and Atlanta.  It is recognized by company senior leadership and HP's Board of Directors that significant capital investments will be made in order to reduce complexity, refresh legacy systems and ultimately reduce costs. 


Job Description

As the Data Architect for the Data Center Consolidation effort, you will be responsible for designing the data model for HP IT’s implementation of the Configuration and Asset Management systems.  This will include designing data manipulation processes to drive the accuracy of the data in these key systems.  You will also be responsible for designing the integration architecture and data transfer between various ITIO systems within the new HP IT data center environment.

 

You will interface with the IT service towers and IT delivery organization to collect data requirements.  You will also work with IT-CTO office to ensure the data model is in compliance with the company’s Enterprise Architecture and service standards.

 

Key objectives include: 
Develop standard Configuration Management and IT Asset Management data architecture and service capabilities for infrastructure and application data capture and system integration
Develop standard data model and metrics to facilitate business reporting
Develop integration plan for ITIO systems service into overall horizontal automation infrastructure
Align with product business groups and serve as spokesperson for HP IT Configuration Management and IT Asset Management both internally and externally.



Your Profile

Bachelor's (undergraduate) degree or equivalent degree required.  Master’s (graduate) degree is a benefit.

Experience includes:

? Eight or more years IT experience

? Four or more years experience in data architecture and modeling, analysis, design, and integration

? Experienced with SQL Server and/or Oracle RDBMS

? Experience in Configuration Management and/or IT Asset Management data architecture and design is a plus

? Experience with IT service engineering and management

? ITIL experience required

? Experience with OpenView and Peregrine toolsets preferred

? Experience working on projects that involve complex cross-functional coordination

? Experienced with change & transition management

? Experienced in process design and implementation

? Experienced with workflow analysis and design

? Demonstrated ability to implement new strategies and programs

? Management of projects/programs
