FMP Media Solutions is currently seeking a Junior Network Administrator with Microsoft server experience and strong problem solving skills, work ethic and a thirst for knowledge & growth to provide Help Desk and System Administration support for internal users. Additionally, the successful candidate will be trained in Webcast engineering to support webcasts for client meetings and events.

Overall Responsibilities

 

Working with (and reporting to) the Director of Technology and a senior engineer, primary responsibilities include research, installation, configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance and day-to-day support of internal PC systems, hardware and software. 

 

Specific Responsibilities

 

? Server maintenance ? approximately 10 Servers

? Server administration - Windows 2000, 2003

? Internal employee Help Desk: supporting approx. 25 Computers (Win 98,2000, XP Desktops, Vista)

? Webcast engineering internally and on-site (approximately 30 computers). After learning Windows Media Encoder and PC Audio Visual connections, will build, configure, maintain and pack (up to 70 lbs) Webcast Encoders for meeting and event use. Will serve as webcast support engineer onsite.  Entails local daily travel (approx 6x?s per year) and worldwide weekly travel (approx 6 weeks per year).

? SQL Server Administration

? Exchange 2003 Administration

? File/Print Sharing Administration

? IIS 6 Administration and Maintenance

? Backup Duties (Verify/Disaster Recovery) (Retrospect)

? Patch Management (Microsoft WSUS)

? General Network Performance Tuning

? Understanding of DNS/WINS

? Firewall Experience a plus (Symantec)

? Video Conferencing equipment

? Encoding & Editing Videos (Sony Vegas / Adobe Premier / Windows Media Encoder)

? HTML, ASP, .Net experience a plus

? PowerPoint, Microsoft Producer experience a plus

? Research new technology as it applies to core competencies

? Miscellaneous Wiring (Network and Phone)

? On-site training will be provided

 

Qualifications

 

? Must have a minimum of 6 months experience in a network support role

? Must possess extensive knowledge in the use and implementation of Microsoft Windows Server, networked printers, network configuration and 10/100/1000Base-T.

? Must have ability to solve desktop problems and provide effective, reliable and courteous help desk support.

? Must know MS Office and have ability to learn and support numerous desktop applications.

? MCSE a big plus

? Must be a team player and be willing to support all aspects of IT.

? Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs

? Needs strong communication skills

? Should possess proven problem solving and investigative skills

? Must have strong analytical skills and an understanding of operational processes, systems and technology concepts.

? Demonstrates initiative, self-motivation, enthusiasm, and an ability to complete tasks in a timely and accurate manner.

? Strong attention to documentation and detail.
