 Junior Systems Analyst

 

Position Description:

Identifies business requirements, determines specifications, develops, modifies and expands new and current programs through analysis and programming.

 

Position Duties:
Works with client management to identify and specify the business requirements and processes (e.g. diverse development platforms, software, hardware, technologies and tools, etc.). 
Researches and evaluates alternative solutions and recommends the most efficient and cost effective solution for the systems design. 
Determines system specifications and database design, develops procedures for information processing and recommends the equipment/platform needed for its solution.
Analyzes business requirements in terms of system and programming requirements and modifies the system design to take the maximum advantage of the existing computer resources. 
Devises data verification methods and standard systems procedures. 
Codes, debugs, tests and documents programs. 
Performs related duties to maintain existing systems as assigned or requested.
Receives general supervision and is competent in most phases of systems analysis and programming to work on own.

 

 

Qualifications for Junior Systems Analyst:
Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related discipline and 4 to 9 years of experience in programming analysis, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 
Requires proficiency in at least two higher-level programming languages.
Experience in VB, VB.Net, ASP and MS SQL Server would be preferred.
At least 1 year of experience programming against a relational database
Must have excellent interpersonal skills, strong team skills, along with good communication skills, initiative and leadership abilities.
