Level I Systems Technician

The D. E. Shaw group, a specialized investment and technology development firm, seeks an intelligent, motivated, and reliable assistant to join its Systems department. Primary responsibilities include hardware and software maintenance of desktop PCs and laptops, as well as network add/move/changes, QA testing, and inventory maintenance. Assistants will have the opportunity to work with new technologies and state-of-the-art equipment. The ideal candidate should have excellent organizational and communication skills, solid PC hardware and Windows OS knowledge, and a strong desire to learn. Very little previous experience is required, but some background in basic telecom, networking, and Level I desktop support is a definite plus.
