Must provide end users with guidance and first level support by assisting in problem resolution.  Acts as the key contact for on-site and remote users for terminal and production problems and inquiries.  Channels problems to appropriate MIS personnel to initiate corrective action or carries out instructions to resolve system or user problems.  Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively with end users.

 Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

?  Develops and maintains a productive working relationship with systems users and coworkers

?  Responds to users? requests for information and assists in the initial stages of problem resolution, including applications/software and technical computer operations equipment

?  Maintains contact with users on operational and production problems

?  Maintains system of tracking current department projects, hardware delivery and returned equipment

?  Maintains monthly asset inventory database

?  Logs documents and maintains history records on user problems

?  Backs up the server daily

?  Initiates corrective action or carries out instructions to resolve system or user problems

?  Keeps a file of service agreements and licenses with the various vendors

?  Gives department presentation during New Employee Orientation

?  Assists systems and programming personnel, as requested

?  Recognizes and identifies potential areas where existing policies and procedures require change, or where new ones need to be developed, especially regarding future business expansion

?  Strives to learn the job functions of the position?s immediate superior as well as peer level positions with whom the individual interacts.  It is the responsibility of the MIS Associate/Help Desk to be prepared for temporary re-assignment and/or promotion due to extended illness, personal emergency or business necessity

?  Performs at or above the company?s IT performance standard

?  May develop and present information to end users through seminars

?  Understands and observes department policies and procedures

?  Understands and observes company policies and procedures

 Typical Experience:

4 year degree in business or computer science preferred, or 1-2 years experience in a customer service field
