POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary responsibility of this position is the architectural design implementation and maintenance of a large marketing data warehouse within a MS SQL 2005 environment.  The essential functions of this role will require a person skilled in architecting data warehousing systems that are meant to be accessed by multiple sets of users with a variety of tools and purposes.  It is necessary in this role to be able to act quickly to respond to a changing environment while continuing to keep the integrity and functionality of the warehouse as the top priority.  This is a highly collaborative environment where team relationship skills are a necessity.

 

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

? Identifies, diagnoses and solves database architecture and system load problems and escalates when necessary

? Identifies needs for technical support, software upgrades, system enhancements and upgrades

? Determines need for coordination of efforts with other team members to ensure timely quality of service

? Uses independent judgment and discretion to prioritize competing requests and sets levels of expectation

? Ensures that problems are handled in a timely manner so as to eliminate down time and maximize company productivity.

? Coordinates with other persons within the team as well as other areas of the company to ensure effective and efficient operations.

? Assists with special projects, as required.  Performs other duties as assigned.

 

CORE COMPETENCIES:

? Experience in design, architecture, installation, upgrades, indexing, service packs, database migrations, data validation / auditing, back up recovery and maintenance of large scale data warehousing systems.

? Ability to work effectively with project teams and clients.

? Ability to solve and troubleshoot problems remotely.

ADDITIONAL DESIREABLE SKILLS:

? SQL 2000 and SQL 2005 required.

? Solid technical and analytical skills.

 

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED/PREFERRED:

 Bachelor?s Degree in Information Technology or Business related fieldSystem Administration Experience is a plus.
