PROJECT MANAGER

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The Sun Developer Network team is looking for a Sr. Project Manager for Sun's developer web site.
Essential functions are:
* Participate and work with others (developer site editors, writers,managing editors, production, engineering, marketing ) to help implement site-wide projects and strategy.
* Help manage the planning, implementation and maintenance of Sun's developer site, and work with stakeholders to ensure appropriateness, timeliness and integrity of the developer content.
* Work independently on developing and posting web content on java.sun.com's developer hubs.
* Ensure information architecture is up to date and easy to navigate. * Help Senior Managing Editor coordinate Web content delivery.
* Work with Senior Managing Editor to communicate content plan, roadmaps, process, etc., by maintaining and updating content intranet.
* Communicate metrics and analyze reader feeder.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
Ability to track and analyze metrics.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
* Excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills
* Understand and adhere to Sun's style guidelines, templates, and processes.
* HTML
* Understanding of publishing processes and systems.
* Manage and work to deadlines.
* Work well independently and as a part of a team.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE:
Successfully work cross-team with production, engineering, marketing, legal, technical writers, managing editors A strong knowledge of editorial and publication procedures for a large, multi-site organization

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 8-10 years

MINIMUM LEVEL OF EDUCATION: BA degree preferred plus 8-10 years professional experience in web publishing or related field

FIELD OF STUDY: English, Technical Writing, Publishing, Computer Science or related field
