Job Summary:

This individual will design, develop, and support Comcast Communication services. Responsibilities include conceptual development, design, planning, and analysis of implementation alternatives for feature servers including Voice Mail. This individual must have the ability to set up and verify system functionality supporting communication features. This position provides engineering and implementation plans for new features at Comcast Cable Communications.

Major Duties:


Design and implement VoIP and other communication features from requirements, product descriptions, and standard documents (Telcordia, IETF, ITU, etc.)

Provide technical direction and implementation plans to other members of the Comcast engineering team.

Evaluate various implementations to determine compliance with business requirements and external specifications (e.g., PacketCable and IETF specifications)

Develop detail designs to be used by the testing and field teams in the deployment and support of new communication services

Establish and maintain productive relationships with peer organizations

Establish and maintain productive relationships with equipment vendors

Proactively identify other service improvement and alternatives that may be beneficial to Communication services offers

Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

EDUCATION:


Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Engineering

EXPERIENCE:


Knowledge and experience with VoIP technology and standards (e.g., SIP, IMS, Voice Mail)

Knowledge of IP Networking (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NAT) with experience in networked implementations

Knowledge of, XML, Java, or Voice XML

Knowledge of Solaris or UNIX

Minimum 5 years developing technical requirements or designs

Excellent written and verbal communication skills required

Ability to take direction and give direction

Ability to work with minimum direction

Ability to work effectively across organizational boundaries
