Programmer Analyst Sr
Under minimal supervision, formulates and defines systems scope and objectives. Analyzes business procedures and problems to develop specifications and convert them to application code.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
? Understands the business areas supported to determine specific output requirements and report format. Supports multiple business areas.
? Studies existing data systems to evaluate effectiveness and develops new, or modifies current systems to improve processes by researching new technology and applying it to complex business issues and/or projects.
? May lead one or more medium sized and complex projects which may entail overseeing internal IT professionals, as well as external IT professionals.
? Codes, tests, debugs, documents, installs, provides training, and maintains programs.
? Conducts studies pertaining to development of new systems to meet current and projected needs.
? Plans and prepares documentation of the development and functioning of operational systems.
? Prepares technical reports and instructional manuals.
? Provides technical leadership and/or business expertise to subordinates and peers on complex projects by evaluating and recommending appropriate development tools.
? Prepares proposals and recommendations for management and/or users.
? Responsible for conducting or coordinating quality assurance testing.
? Develops business relationships and integrates activities with other IT business units/areas to ensure successful implementation and support of project efforts.
? Creates work plans for others and is expected to meet budget and schedule commitments.
? Acts as a liaison with other departments, divisions, and organizations.
? Communicates project status to all levels of management.
? Provides on-call support during off-hours.
? Must maintain satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.
? Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations. If accountable for the work of others, responsible for ensuring their understanding and compliance.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
? Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Computer Science, Business Administration, MIS, Mathematics, or Engineering from four-year college or university, plus 3 to 5 years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
SKILLS
? Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
? Computer skill requirements include: Intermediate MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access and MS PowerPoint.
? Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
? Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The Senior Programmer Analyst will play an integral role in helping to develop, implement, and execute against an IS-Marketing Systems technology strategy. Key functional areas include Marketing support for Creative Services, each of the Business Unit Teams, Hospitality, Tasting Rooms, Wine Clubs and other strategic Marketing goals including Customer Relationship Management (CRM). This opportunity involves new software development for the Gallo Marketing Department. The Senior Programmer Analyst will work with other team members to gather customer requirements, create design documents, and develop and implement software to meet business need. Most new application development is Java or .NET-related. Project and leadership responsibility as well as interaction with other programmers both internal and external to Gallo is expected. This position may also serve as primary or secondary support for existing software applications. Minimal maintenance, enhancement, and upgrade work on existing systems is required from time to time. Most existing application support is php/Filemaker and Visual Basic-related.
PRIOR EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS AND/OR SKILLS REQUIRED:
A programming Proficiency in Java, JavaScript, JSP, Struts, CVS, WebSphere, WSAD, Visual Basic, .NET, php, Information Builders WebFocus, Crystal Reports, SQL, html, XML, UML or the ability to quickly learn an embrace the desired technologies is required.
