RF, T1, HFC Field Service Engineer

Company is looking for a field sales engineer who will provide technical sales support on our Spectrum Overlay system to account representatives and customers. The proper candidate will identify customer's needs and sales opportunities to maximize and grow sales, help customers by providing technical solutions and pre- and post-sales support, including installation and configuration. The field sales engineer’s knowledge of HFC networks and common MSO installation and maintenance practices will help in accomplishing these tasks. The candidate will support Product Management, Business Development and Marketing, Proposals, Account Management, Sales, and Systems Integration Partners. The Field Sales Engineer is expected to provide technical assistance on our Spectrum Overlay products and be an active member of the sales team performing the following pre-sale functions: • Consulting: Provide technical support for account managers on evolving HFC, Wireless & Cable technologies and applications, providing the customer with details on product usage and applications • Quotations: Respond to customers' requests for quotation with required product content and supporting documentation. • Proposal Support: Give technical input to Requests for Quotation, Information, or Pricing. Answer technical questionnaires, prepare product overview perspectives, and advise on bid/no bid decisions. • System Design: Give technical input to System Designs including legacy CATV system design considerations. Gather required information from customers for design questionnaires, prepare design output reports, refine design practices, and train customers on Spectrum Overlay system design considerations. • Source of Product Information: Use the expertise gained on product development teams to advise customers on product features, functions or interfaces. • Product Approval: Assist on strategic marketing teams to obtain product approvals from major customers, and support Field Trials and Deployments • Technical Presentations: Develop and deliver technical presentations on the Spectrum Overlay system and general industry concepts. This person will also assist with all aspects of Post-Sale support: Deployment and Configuration, ATP, System Proofing, and phone/field troubleshooting/repair. Other duties include product documentation (Application notes, product ordering guides, etc.) and training (Installation, operations, and maintenance to end-customers, sales and marketing teams, customer service personnel, channel partners, systems integration partners). This person should be familiar with HFC networks, their design and operation, amplifiers, optical nodes, transmitters and receivers, passive CATV components and other RF equipment. They should be conversant with test equipment such as Network Analyzers, CATV analyzers, power meters, and spectrum analyzers. They should have strong computer and networking skills. Qualifications :
Requirements: Bachelors of Science degree or equivalent experience (EE, CS preferred). This person is expected to have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the CATV Outside Plant field. Preferred candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in cable and/or wireless-based telecommunications systems including a minimum of three years experience with deploying RF, CATV systems or T1 or Hybrid Fiber Coax. The candidate must also possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, and should possess selling skills and knowledge of account development strategies.
