System Sales Engineer

We are currently seeking qualified candidates to become an integral part of our Technology Solutions sales team as a System Sales Engineer.  This position will be based out of our Oak Brook, IL district office and will cover the Chicago South/West and downtown Chicago areas.  You will provide technical pre-sales and post-sales support (i.e. on-site presentations, demo room activities, etc.) of assigned digital software and hardware products to all district, regional sales, and dealer reps, including development of timelines for technical requirements. You will interact (in person and telephonically) with customer IT departments when opportunities are determined to be strategic and participate in communication with customer IT departments at an executive management level. This will add creditability to the sales process as it relates to Lanier strategic product offerings, host print initiatives, and document management solutions and provides District Service Manager, Customer Service Engineer (CSE), and/or Dealer technical people with the details of the opportunity to be implemented.  You will also prepare bid reviews and analysis, and define overall project plans for technical implementation and support.


YOUR CAPABILITIES
MCSE certification and 2 years job-related experience are required; Bachelor?s Degree and 4 years of experience are preferred.
At least 1 year previous sales experience.
2-5 years NT or NetWare networking knowledge required.
Knowledge of Windows/Unix/AS400/S390 printing or color printing is a huge plus.
Experience with document management solutions including scanning, imaging, faxing and printing is a plus.
Strong knowledge of software applications such as MS Office, desktop publishing, network management, print job control, SAP and other mainframe applications highly preferred.
Solid technical background, business knowledge, good oral and written communication skills, excellent problem-solving abilities and a proven commitment to customer satisfaction.
A self-starter who is career minded and motivated to advance to higher technical levels.

 Due to onsite presentations and demonstrations, local travel is involved and required.
